The footage is grainy but the voices are clear. A hidden camera placed outside a construction site in Jefferson City, Missouri, has allegedly caught Mayor Tim Walker meeting late at night with a controversial real estate developer currently under investigation for bribery.
Locals are furious, as the city recently approved a multi-million-dollar project led by the same developer fast-tracked without public hearing.
“This is why people don’t trust politics,” one resident said. “It’s always handshakes in the dark.”
Mayor Walker’s office has not responded to requests for comment. The footage is now in the hands of the state ethics board.
