Mom, I’ll Bring Flour Even If I Die 17-Year-Old Gunned Down at Gaza Aid Line as Peace Talks Falter

Mom, I’ll Bring Flour Even If I Die 17-Year-Old Gunned Down at Gaza Aid Line as Peace Talks Falter

Sumaya al-Sha’er held her son’s lifeless body, a promise still echoing in her ears:

“Mom, I’ll bring you flour. Even if I die.”

That was the last thing 17-year-old Nasir told her before he walked toward a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation food distribution site in Rafah and never came back.

Nasir was among the 31 Palestinians shot dead Friday while trying to get food, in what witnesses call an unprovoked attack by Israeli forces. The Red Cross said its hospital overflowed with casualties, many of them teenagers and children, all desperate for survival in a Gaza that has been cut off from flour, fuel, and clean water for months.

“He was just trying to feed his mother,” said a neighbor, weeping.

The same day, Israeli airstrikes killed 28 more, including four children in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis. The total deaths in one day? Fifty-nine.

Despite the carnage, U.S.-brokered peace talks ended with no resolution. President Trump, who met with Netanyahu earlier in the week, had claimed a ceasefire was “nearing.” But on the ground, peace is further than ever.

How many more mothers have to bury their sons before the world pays attention?
