Mustapha Sule Lamido has formally entered the race for the Jigawa State governorship after picking the nomination form of the People’s Democratic Party.
The former PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 election submitted the form to party stakeholders in Dutse for endorsement.
Speaking after the submission, Lamido said he had completed consultations and was now seeking the party’s approval to contest in the 2027 election.
He expressed confidence in the PDP’s ability to address Jigawa’s challenges, stating that the party remains the best platform to deliver governance and development.
Lamido also criticised other political parties, claiming they have failed to meet expectations since taking over from the PDP at the national level.
He called on party members to support his ambition, promising to uphold values of service and effective leadership.
Mustapha Sule Lamido is the son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido.
