Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has officially submitted his governorship nomination and expression of interest forms at the national secretariat of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja.
Malami, who is contesting the 2027 Kebbi governorship election under the ADC platform, said his ambition is focused on what he described as a “total rescue mission” for the state.
According to a statement released by his media aide, Mohammed Bello Doka, the former minister promised to prioritise security, agriculture, infrastructure, education and healthcare if elected.
The statement described the submission of the forms as the formal launch of “Operation Rescue,” claiming the move has already generated excitement among supporters across Kebbi State.
Malami said he intends to use his experience from serving eight years at the federal level to tackle insecurity, improve public services and revive economic activities in the state.
“He is ready to deploy strategic competence to restore security, revive agriculture, rebuild infrastructure, and return hope to millions of suffering Kebbi people,” the statement read.
The former AGF is expected to begin consultations across the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State ahead of the ADC governorship primaries.
