Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered ₦8 million ransom in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh.
According to the statement, the victim was abducted on April 19, 2026, from the Bauna area of Shendam LGA.
Troops later tracked the location through intelligence gathering and interrogation of an arrested suspect who reportedly confessed to the crime.

The victim was found at Padam Forest in Qua’an Pan LGA and successfully rescued.
The military also recovered ₦8 million earlier paid as ransom by the family and returned the money after the rescue.
The rescued victim received treatment at General Hospital, Shendam, before reuniting with her family.
Troops say operations are continuing to arrest other gang members.
