Trump Turns Rose Garden Into His Personal Concert Hall - With Music, Mar-a-Lago Umbrellas, and Big Promises Ahead

Trump Turns Rose Garden Into His Personal Concert Hall - With Music, Mar-a-Lago Umbrellas, and Big Promises Ahead

The Rose Garden at the White House just got a major glow-up and President Donald Trump couldn’t wait to show it off in the most Trump way possible: by blasting his favorite songs through brand-new outdoor speakers.

Reporters were ushered outside Tuesday by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who explained that the president was “testing the sound system” for what he’s already calling “the best event in the history of the White House.”

As the music rolled, familiar notes of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” filled the air, followed by Pavarotti’s powerful “Nessun dorma,” Elvis Presley’s classic “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” and Joe Cocker’s tender “You Are So Beautiful.” Trump himself emerged from the Oval Office, pumping his fist, smiling at the crowd, and pointing proudly at the renovated garden. Later, he even mixed in one of his campaign rally favorites “YMCA” by the Village People.

According to Leavitt, the president was DJ-ing straight from his iPad inside the Oval Office toggling between meetings and playlists. She teased that Trump even floated the idea of hosting the first big party on the new patio for the press corps.

Adding to the personal touch, Leavitt confirmed the yellow-striped umbrellas scattered across the garden came directly from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “They are literally the umbrellas from Mar-a-Lago,” she said with a laugh.

As for First Lady Melania Trump, Leavitt noted that her earlier Rose Garden renovations from Trump’s first term remain “untouched” and that she is believed to be pleased with the latest upgrades.

Most telling, however, was Leavitt’s closing remark: despite usually spending August at Bedminster, Trump is staying in Washington. “He’s a man on a mission,” she said. “He wants to move, get things done quickly, and strike while the iron is hot.”
