America Feels Like 1963 All Over Again



At a memorial for civil rights hero Medgar Evers, his daughter Reena stood in front of hundreds and delivered a chilling message.


“We are living through the same hate my father died fighting.”


Her words echoed through Mississippi as she spoke of recent political assassinations, rising racial tension, and the normalization of violence in politics. Evers-Everette reminded the crowd that her father’s blood still cries out not just from history, but in today’s headlines.


With voting rights under threat and gun violence on the rise, she called on Americans to wake up. “Silence is complicity,” she said. “And history always repeats itself when we refuse to listen.”
