Warren Buffett Donates Another $6 Billion, Bringing His Total Giving to $60 Billion

It’s not every day that someone gives away billions of dollars unless that someone is Warren Buffett. In a powerful show of continued philanthropy, the legendary investor and Berkshire Hathaway chairman just donated $6 billion worth of his company’s stock to five foundations, continuing his long standing commitment to give away most of his wealth. With this latest donation, Buffett’s total contributions to these foundations have now reached an astonishing $60 billion since 2006.

The five beneficiaries include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which focuses on global health and education, and four foundations led by his own family members the Susan Thompson Buffett FoundationSherwood FoundationHoward G. Buffett Foundation, and NoVo Foundation.

Buffett, now 94, has always insisted he doesn’t want to die with a mountain of wealth. “My will provides that more than 99% of my estate is destined for philanthropic usage,” he wrote in a past letter. His actions continue to match his words, showing the world that real legacy isn’t built by holding onto riches, but by sharing them.

Though he’s stepping back from the public eye, Buffett remains a towering figure in American business and philanthropy a man who once pledged to give away his fortune and is quietly making sure he keeps that promise.

This $6 billion donation is a reminder that in a world of self-interest and billionaires racing to space, there’s still one titan focused on giving back to Earth.
