The Capitol is buzzing, and not just because of the heat. Senators returned to the floor today to begin a legislative marathon known as vote-a-rama a chaotic, sleepless session to push through President Trump’s new budget bill before the July 4th break.
The bill, nicknamed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”, includes sweeping tax cuts, deep spending reductions, and sharp rollbacks to environmental and education programs. Democrats are furious, especially over threats to Medicaid and rural healthcare systems.
To make things spicier, Elon Musk posted on X supporting the bill’s AI investment measures, while environmental groups threatened lawsuits.
With more than 100 amendments on the docket, this could be one of the most dramatic budget battles in years and everything’s up for grabs.
