Zelensky Accuses Russia of Stalling Peace Talks with Unrealistic Demands

Kyiv, Ukraine Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

Kyiv, Ukraine Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of deliberately stalling peace negotiations, warning that Moscow’s insistence on “unrealistic conditions” could have serious consequences for regional and global stability.

In a televised statement on Tuesday, Zelensky said the Kremlin continues to block meaningful dialogue by presenting demands that “no sovereign nation would ever accept.” He emphasized that Ukraine remains open to peace talks, but not under terms that compromise its territorial integrity or dignity.

“Russia is not negotiating for peace they’re buying time. And the world must take note,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader did not specify the exact demands made by Russia but reiterated that Crimea and occupied Donbas remain non-negotiable, and any resolution must respect Ukraine’s full sovereignty and international law.

This latest accusation comes amid reports of renewed Russian offensives in eastern Ukraine and increased drone strikes on civilian infrastructure, further complicating diplomatic efforts.

Zelensky also warned that prolonging the war through delay tactics could backfire on Moscow. “The longer Russia avoids real dialogue, the heavier the consequences will be not just for them, but for peace in Europe.”

As international mediators continue to urge restraint on both sides, Zelensky called on global leaders to pressure the Kremlin into serious engagement, stating that “peace must not be built on threats, lies, or forced concessions.
